Parasites Are More Common in Bali Than You Think

Living in or visiting a tropical environment like Bali significantly increases exposure to parasitic organisms, many of which can remain dormant for months or years before causing noticeable symptoms. Standard health checks do not screen for parasites.

Our Deep Dive panel is the most thorough parasite and dormant disease screen available anywhere in Indonesia. It covers 94 individual tests across six parasite categories, including the rapid laboratory tests commonly used to detect dengue, malaria, typhoid, and other tropical diseases.

When parasites are identified, our physician prescribes a targeted natural medicine protocol drawing on Jamu herbal tonics, IV infusions, oral nutraceuticals, and topical medicines as appropriate.

Why Parasite Testing Is Essential in Bali

Bali's tropical climate, rich soil, open water systems, and close contact between humans and animals create ideal conditions for parasitic transmission. Even health-conscious travellers and long-term residents who eat well and live carefully can unknowingly carry parasites.

Many parasitic infections remain entirely asymptomatic until they reach a burden large enough to produce systemic effects. By that point, they have often been present for a significant period. Regular testing is the only reliable way to know.

How to Prepare for Your Test

Accurate parasite detection requires fresh, correctly collected stool samples. Our medical team provides full instructions in advance and supports you through every step of the process.

1

Collect Your Stool Sample

Use the sterile container provided by our clinic. Collect a fresh sample within 2 hours of the test appointment. Do not use toilet water in the collection.

2

Avoid Certain Foods Beforehand

For 48 hours before collection, avoid red meat, beets, and iron supplements, as these can interfere with certain test readings.

3

Bring to Clinic Promptly

Bring your sample to Eden Longevity Center within the specified time window. Keep it at room temperature (not refrigerated) unless instructed otherwise.

4

Blood Draw & Rapid Tests

In addition to the stool analysis, a blood draw is taken for the rapid diagnostic tests (dengue, malaria, typhoid etc.) at the same clinic visit.

Treatment Options if Parasites Are Found

Our physician prescribes a personalised natural medicine protocol based on your specific findings
  • Jamu Jo herbal tonics: traditional Indonesian plant medicines with documented antiparasitic properties, tailored to the identified pathogens
  • IV infusions: targeted intravenous therapy to support immune response, reduce inflammation, and accelerate clearance
  • Oral nutraceuticals: high-dose supplementation including wormwood, black walnut, clove, berberine, and other evidence-based antiparasitic compounds
  • Topical medicines: for ectoparasites and cutaneous infections, appropriate topical prescriptions are provided
  • Dietary and lifestyle protocol: specific food, probiotic, and lifestyle recommendations to support gut restoration and parasite clearance
  • Follow-up retest: after completing the treatment protocol, a repeat panel confirms full clearance and restoration of gut health
